 Regarding Open Access Information

An Open Access Movement: A Comprehensive Outlook

Twenty years ago, the world of scientific publishing was very different, with articles available primarily through a subscription model. Keeping this in mind, a comprehensive outlook on Open Access was created as initiated by “Open Society Institute” to promote Open Access (OA) in a conference at Budapest, Hungary on December 1st-2nd, 2001 which was referred to as “Budapest Open Access Initiative [BOAI]”.

As per BOAJ a new definition for open access was coined i.e “The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant(s) to all users free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit, and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship” and from which every article is “deposited immediately upon initial Publications in at least one online repository”

Complementing the efforts and initiatives of different scientific organizations, societies, and institutions, the concept of Open Access (OA) has now established its own identity in the scientific world.

Open Access means unlimited access and unrestricted use and reuse of all peer-reviewed research articles with the rights to use fully in the digital environment. Everyone can access publications freely which are available online. Open access is rapidly growing in the area of publishing domain and researchers can publish their novel and innovative research in their respective area of discipline.

Open Access Journals are scholarly journals that are available online to the reader "without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself." They not only give royalty to free literature, but also reduce costs for paper-copy production, physical storage, and distribution through digitalized copies.

Open Access Publishing model provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access of research articles to global scientific world and also readers/ academicians are allowed to copy, reuse, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly .Since Open Access publishing allows the permanent restoration of scientific data through digital copies, other than the constraint of Internet access, scientists around the world can freely share information and collaborate to enhance the growth of science.

Through Open Access publication process, scientists/ researchers can avoid subscription fees, copyright and licensing restrictions to access free scholarly literature.

Alcrut is an Open Access publisher, established with pragmatic agenda and aims to make the scientific research more accessible by reducing all commercial and technical barriers to the access through read, share and download the content without financial restriction to readers.

Alcrut has strictly followed the principles of OA from the time of its inception thereby type providing complete support to all previously held initiatives towards the OA concept, thus publishing all its articles in the Journals which were freely accessible.

We strongly believe that research information and results should be shared often among the researchers so that it leads to future research through wide use of its results. We aim to bring this decisive information to a worldwide audience at virtually and allow us to use it in new, innovative ways. The digital environment creates new challenges and provides new opportunities in the sharing, review, and publication of research results.

We aspire to publish manuscripts that are exciting to read, educate, and notify audience with the latest updates on cutting edge research in the areas of clinical and medical subspecialties. Abstracts and full texts (HTML, XML and PDF format) of all articles published by Alcrut Publishers are freely accessible to everyone immediately after publication. The benefits of implementing Open Access are reaped by many end users such as students, researchers, clinicians, patients, policymakers and journalists. Our content is universally available in an easily readable format on the internet and strictly follows the open access policies.

Developing countries

It is well known that many universities and Research institutes in developing countries are not able to meet the high cost for subscription as a result they were not able to know about the current research development in their respective field. Open access provides an unlimited opportunity to connect research information and increase alertness between the scientific civilizations.

The Public

Early publishing of innovative research will allow other researchers to help them to pile up with their new ideas which can help further in their studies.
